The conveiner of the 9th Ehingbeti Lagos Economic Summit has projected that the 2022 edition will reconfirm the Lagos vision to become Africa’s Model Mega City, a global, economic and financial hub that is safe, secure, functional and productive as one of the outcomes of the event.
Speaking in Lagos last week at the pre-summit stakeholders meeting held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, the co-chairman and honourable commissioner for Economic planning and budget Mr. Sam Egube said, “the Ehingbeti Economic summit has been the conveining of advocates, passionate about the emergence of the most vibrant, diverse, competitive and inclusive African mega city. It brings together local and foreign private sector, technocrats, government Representatives, civil society, academia, multilateral and development organizations.
EhingbeThey gather to discuss about the pertinent issues that affect the growth of Lagos state, Nigeria, and decide on the necessary pathways to achieve the desired outcome for lagosians and provide progressive leadership for the nation.”
Mr. Egube noted that the 2022 edition of Ehingbeti will achieve three main objectives: to introduce the Lagos State Development Plan (LSDP) 2022-2052, an all encompassing master plan which clearly articulates initiatives that will drive Lagos’ ambition to become Africa’s Model Mega City, a global, economic and financial hub that is safe, secure functional and productive; to engage with high-powered speakers and thought leaders on the strategic dimensions and focus areas of the LSDP 2052 and provide opportunities for engagement with the audience; and to formally launch the LSDP 2052.
Presenting the over view of the LSDP 2052 Mr. Olayinka Majekodunmi who represented Boston Consulting Group reiterated that Lagos state has defined the vision to become Africa’s Model Mega City and that is why the plan is drawn to cover four broad areas which are: thriving economy, human-centric city, modern infrastructure and effective governance.
