2023: How Edevbie saved Delta PDP from total collapse by APC – Tomi

The Convener of the David Edevbie Movement’23, Comrade Tomi Akporoghene Wojuola, has stated that the court case instituted and won by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta state, Olorogun David Edevbie, against the erstwhile candidate of the party, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, actually saved the party in the state from political obscurity and relegation.

Comrade Tomi Akporoghene who is also the Media/Publicity Secretary of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Delta state, gave the exposure while responding to journalists in Asaba recently.

He stated that with the glaring evidences against the former candidate, there was no way he would have scaled through if it was the APC who had instituted the case in court, adding that, “it is a million times better for a PDP member to win at the court against another party faithful than for the opposition to have won this same case some time in the future”.

In his words: “Olorogun David Edevbie actually did rescue the Peoples Democratic Party from political obscurity and relegation in Delta state and he should be given all the necessary support if we as a party are serious about retaining power in 2023. Party leaders and stakeholders should be seen rallying round him. He is the present hero of Delta State PDP and should be accorded that regard.”

*”Do you know what would have happened to the party if it was the APC who took up this case and won at the Federal High Court same way Olorogun David Edevbie won? PDP would have been totally destroyed in the state. But David Edevbie who majority of Deltans want as governor, in his usual foresight took up the challenge and approached the courts all in a bid to save the party and the state. The people who are most bittered by this action are members of the opposition who were expecting a workover through the courts, but fortunately for us as a party, Edevbie beat them to it, he rescued our dear party from imminent political relegation.”

“It is not a fight to the finish as some quarters have erroneously put it, it is an in-house issue and as His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has timelessly stated, there is no division in the party, PDP in Delta state is one indivisible party. When David Edevbie finally wins at the court of final jurisdiction, he would still fly the party’s flag carrying every one along, including those who had other preferred aspirants,” he said.
