2023: Ndokwa East youth political movement visits Ned Nwoko, promises grassroot mobilization

Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, on Saturday, 17 December, 2022, received the Ndokwa East youth political movement, in his palatial home at Idumuje Ugboko, Delta state.

The Ndokwa East youth political movement, is a group operating with the sole aim of ensuring that PDP wins the five political offices. Their main function is to build formidable grassroot support for PDP.

The group, whom at their own will, has moved around the local government area, to ensure that the people understand the importance of having PDP members occupy the five political offices, found it worthy to visit the Delta North PDP senatorial candidate, Prince Ned Nwoko.

According to Isaac Ogene, the group coordinator, he said that the group, before now, had not met Nwoko in person but the good records of the leading senatorial candidate had prompted the group to work in his favour to ensure that he occupies the senatorial seat.

Ogene, however, during the meeting, appealed to Nwoko, to make youth empowerment a priority assignment while in office. He acknowledged Nwoko’s selfless and just nature, and expressed optimism that the senatorial candidate will represent the district productively.

Responding, Nwoko, whom at every given opportunity, has always stated the importance of youth empowerment, reiterated his promise of dedicating his political life to youths. He assured that the youths would be well represented, stressing that his major aim of vying for the position is because of the youths.

Nwoko also took a swipe at the poor state of living in the local government. Ironically, Ndokwa East is one of the oil producing local governments in Delta state.

“My visit to Ndokwa East local government, during the Ward-to-Ward campaign, was an eye opener for me. I saw people living in swamps in the midst of plenty.

“I saw a lot of mud houses with people living in them. They live in mud houses not because they want to, but because that is the only house they can afford. The idea of living in a mud house may not be entirely bad when it is a choice, but not when you’re subjected to it. I have mud houses in my compound but they are for historical reasons.

“I saw the environmental hazards caused by the activities of oil and gas industries in the local government, the devastation caused by the recent flood. I saw them all.

“All these, I promise, we will fix. I said ‘we’, because I cannot do it alone. I have a team which I must work with. And that team includes other PDP candidates vying for other four political offices. We must have PDP members occupy the five political offices, especially the presidency, to ensure that all the workable plans mapped out are achieved.” The leading senatorial candidate said.
