The Comptroller of Immigration Service Rivers State Command James Sunday has assured expatriates and foreign investors residing in Rivers state and other parts of the Niger Delta region of their safety and conducive atmosphere for business activities.
According to comptroller James Sunday, the expatriate communities in Rivers State are assured of Safety to both their investments and personal safety as far as they remain law abiding and compliant with all relevant immigration laws and regulations guiding their legal stay as regular migrants and bonafide investors in Rivers and Nigeria.
The Comptroller of Immigration Service, Rivers State Command James Sunday, who made this known during a media interactive session in Port Harcourt,Rivers State, said the Nigeria Immigration Service is a facilitators of residency,expatriate and work permits for Non Nigerians,especially those on expatriate quota and resident permit,special immigrant status(SIS) that is Non Nigerians male married to Nigerian Women and who must qualified by relevant provisions for such status.
He also pointed out that non-Nigerians who are doing legitimate businesses or engagements should feel at home and continue their businesses to improve the economy and increase gainful employments for qualified Nigerians mostly youths who must have finished their National Service and looking for gainful employments not to shut their doors at them nor deny them employment as far as they have the requisite qualifications.
Comptroller Sunday also assured expatriates involved in one form of business or the other of safety and flourishing business before,during and after the General Elections,emphasizing on granting them opportunity to learn on the job, by the Understudy provisions as enshrined in the expatriate quota grant provisions that guarantees mandatory understudy programme for each quota positions for the transfer of knowledge,Skills and technology.
He urged the expatriate Communities in Rivers State to be assured of Safety to both their investments and themselves as far as they remain law abiding and compliant with all relevant immigration laws and regulations guiding their legal stay as regular migrants and bonafide investors in Rivers and Nigeria.
The Comptroller James Sunday assured them of an open door policy that guarantees smooth and seamless relationship between the Nigeria Immigration Service Rivers State Command and the investors and foreign business community in Rivers.
