The Arewa community in Delta North senatorial district, on Saturday, 14 January, 2023, converged at Mount Ned, Idumuje Ugboko, the country home of the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, Prince Ned Nwoko, to declare their full support for him.
For Nwoko’s sake, the group extended their endorsement to other PDP candidates, and pledged 100 percent votes for PDP.
Their coordinator, Alhaji Abdullahi Suleman, described Nwoko, whom the group refers to as their Islam brother, as a symbol of unity in diversity. Noting that, the senatorial candidate, despite being a Muslim, respects and accommodates everyone, irrespective of religion.
“The mission of this group is to work together with other PDP foot soldiers to ensure seamless victory for the party at all levels. We may not have direct access to other candidates, but we can always reach Prince Ned directly. And through him, our needs would be met. So, for his sake, we would vote PDP 100 percent.
“One thing that is very obvious about Prince Ned, is that, he is very accessible. That alone is enough reason to vote him and other PDP candidates, knowing that, once we can reach him, we can reach Atiku, as well as other candidates whom would be representing us both at the state and federal levels.” Alhaji Abdullahi stated.
The group coordinator, also, pointed out that, Nwoko, even without being in government, has done greatly for the Hausa community in Delta state. Abdullahi expressed optimism that the leading Delta North senatorial candidate would do more when he gets to the red chambers.
Acknowledging the gesture, Nwoko commended the group for their bold decision, and promised not to betray their trust. He said, he appreciates the idea of the 100 percent votes for PDP, stressing that he needs the complete team to be a productive senator.
Nwoko likened the team to a football team, whereby the input of every team member is required to achieve set goals.
He said, “I have discussed with other representatives. Once election is over, we will meet and table the various problems faced in each local government area, and with combined efforts, we will tackle every problem.
“We will fulfill every promise made to the people during campaign, I promise.” Nwoko added.
