Mrs. Regina Daniels-Nwoko, the graceful Nollywood actress who has starred in innumerable movies, and wife of the London-trained lawyer cum politician, Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, has proven that aside from getting into movie characters, she can also play politics, as she campaigns alongside her husband for the 2023 elections.
It does not matter how one chooses to describe it, the fact remains that the celebrity actress who started off as a child actor, has been the sensation of the ongoing PDP ward-to-ward campaign rally in Anioma area of Delta state.
Always making iconic entrances with her husband, Prince Ned, into various political wards, with large number of fans screaming “Regina Daniels”, sliding out their phones to take pictures with her. It does not matter how far away they are from her, they just want to have Regina Daniels’ picture in their phones, the one they took by themselves, not the ones downloaded from the internet.
The comely actress would wave continously, beaming radiantly, and always willing and ready to take pictures with her myriad fans whom she has captivated with her presence. Her presence ignited so much excitement and jubilation.
It therefore, stares no surprise that tongues are already wagging that her husband married her for political reasons. However, Nwoko, speaking to journalists in his country home in Idumuje Ugboko, on Saturday, November 19, 2022, stated that he did not marry her for political reasons. He, however, admitted that Regina’s presence has added excitement and has continously drew colourful spectacle in campaign venues, but he certainly did not marry her for any political reason.
He said, “There are always rumours about me, about us, but none of that is true. I did not marry Regina for political reasons. Is she the only actress? If people think I married her for political reasons, then other candidates should also take actresses to campaign venues let see the turnout.”
Responding to why Regina is the only wife out of five others, accompanying him to campaign rallies, the legal consultant who prefers to be addressed as a lawyer to politician, noting that he is not a conventional politician, said: “We are both Anioma children, and we both want the best for our people. So, Regina coming out to support me in campaign rallies is not out of place, she is doing the right thing.”
