Afrobeats musician, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, has hit one billion streams on Audiomack, becoming the first African to do so.
Audiomack, a music streaming platform that allows creators to share unlimited music and podcast content for free, released a congratulatory message on Thursday via its Twitter handle, to celebrate the Nigerian’s new feat.
The post read, “Congratulations, Burna Boy on becoming the first African Artist to hit 1 billion Audiomack streams.”
In reaction to this, the “Sitting On Top of the world” crooner retweeted the post by adding his own caption, with “Big 7! 🦍”
Recall that earlier this month, the Nigerian music superstar made history by becoming the first African artist to headline a solo concert in a UK stadium.
He sold out the 80,000-capacity London Stadium and performed his “Love Damini” album and some of his hit songs.
The London Stadium management acknowledged his achievement on Twitter.
Burna Boy performed at the Champions League Kick-off Show by Pepsi, following his sold-out concert in the London Stadium.
He shared the stage with Brazilian pop star Anitta in Istanbul, Turkey, and performed songs like ‘Last Last’ and ‘It’s Plenty’.
Furthermore, Burna Boy is set to become the First African Artist to host and headline a stadium concert in the USA on July 8, 2023.
Burna Boy is expanding his global audience and musical achievements as he aims to conquer bigger music markets.
