Governor Willie Obiano has commended Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the November 6 gubernatorial elections in Anambra, saying he is tested and proven Economist of international repute.

Gov. Obiano made the commendation at Isuofia during the New Yam  Festival and chieftaincy conferment ceremony, at Isuofia Civic Centre, on August 14, 2021.

The governor said: “Soludo is the best candidate for the upcoming election of Anambra state.

“He has never failed in any endeavour; a professor in his 30s and a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

“The innovations he introduced to CBN is the reason why depositors are sleeping with their two eyes closed today.

“His services under President Olusegun Obasanjo is second to none in the history of Nigeria. He is undoubtedly the best.

“As the election will come up on November 6, start preparing for it now. Soludo is coming to build on the economic foundations we have laid.

“I am sure, with Soludo, Anambra state’s economy will be more viable than any other in Nigeria,’’ he noted.

The  Igwe C O A Muoghalu (a retired Colonel), of Isuofia, who conferred a chieftaincy title, Dike Udo, on Soludo, attributed it to his effort to making Ndi Isuofia to relate peacefully.

He said: “Prof Soludo championed Isuofia Peace Summit in 2017. The summit brought Ndi Isuofia together after 20 years of being in disarray.

“This title shall follow him to Agu Awka in 2022, when he will take over as governor.

“The security system installed by Governor Obiano in Anambra shall remain in an improved state.’’

He enjoined Ndi Anambra to go for their voters’ cards and ensure it is intact.

“The election is to be won and lost in the polling boots.’’

Prof Soludo, who received the chieftaincy title with enthusiasm, thanked Ndi Isuofia for recognising his efforts toward enthroning peaceful co-existence in the community.

He thanked Governor Obiano for supporting his gubernatorial ambition, promising to serve Ndi Anambra diligently.

The professor added: “the campaigns have started. So, go out, tell them about Soludo’s candidacy. APGA is the party.

“The project is a collective one and so put in your best in the interest of our state.’’
