The national president of Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), Mr Titus Akpudo, has said that the union has resolved to support the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 6 governorship election in the state.
Akpudo explained that the support was due to the lofty projects that Governor Willie Obiano attracted in the course of his tenure.
He said this during the inauguration of the campaign council at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.
Akpudo, the Deputy Chairman, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Anambra State Chapter, said Governor Obiano had transformed the state and had projected it to world map.
“The security architecture in the state has brought in massive development. The Aku-luo-uno policy of the governor was a catalyst that propelled the development.
“Governor Obiano introduced N20 million choose your projects initiate at which all 188 communities in Anambra benefitted up to the 3rd phases.
“Within seven years, the government built an international conference centre, an international cargo and passengers airport and a stadium in addition to other projects.
“All these projects helped us to reach irreversible decision to support an APGA government, for continuity,’’
