Nigerians, across social media space, are angry over the action of the Nigerian soldiers who brutalised and dragged veteran actor, Chiwetalu Agu at Upper Iweka area of Onitsha, Anambra state.
His offense was wearing the Biafra regalia which carries the colour of the Biafra flag. The soldiers spotted and stopped him. He was then seen in the video which has gone viral being dragged on the roadside by the soldiers and whisked away. Gunshots were fired to send the crowd that were milling around away.
Nigerians have expressed anger over the action of the officers. Some said the soldiers should have respected his age and made friendship with him. Some said he was free to wear whatever he wanted to wear as far as he was not seen fomenting trouble.
They blamed the soldiers for infringing on his fundamental human rights as a free Nigerian. He has right to wear whatever he wanted to put on.
Some said Nigerian soldiers have not been able to fight Boko haram but are attacking and dragging armless Nigerians for wearing a mere clothing.
However, a few blamed the actor for wearing the known Biafra clothing knowing that heartless soldiers were all over the south east, looking for Biafra apologetics.
