President General of Obomkpa, one of the leading communities in Aniocha North local government area of Delta state, Charles Ogedi, has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa over the development strides in the community.
Surveyor Ogedi, who is President General of Obomkpa Progressive Union (OPU) explained that the community has benefited immensely from the development efforts of the present government, saying no other government had given attention to Obomkpa as Okowa has done and is doing.
He said the communty could now be easily accessed by road, while other infrastructural projects such as the NEWMAP World Bank assisted erosion control project, market, school and health facilities had been provided.
Surveyor Ogedi also cited the appointment of some indigenes of the community into political offices and the engagement of youths of the community in the wealth and job creation programmes of the state government, stressing that the human capital development programme of the Okowa administration had helped to build capacity in many areas of human endeavour.
The Obomkpa communty President General once again condoled with the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and his family over the death of his father, Pa Arthur OKowa, whom he said was a father indeed, who gave good upbringing to his children and impacted on the lives of many.
He urged the governor and his siblings to take solace in the sterling virtues imparted to them by their late father, which helped to prepare them for their present positions in life and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
