A group under the aegis of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency Concerned Citizens, has observed with dismay what they called “a scorecard of dismal failure” of Hon. Ngozi Lawrence Okolie, member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The group in a statement on Tuesday, made available to Journalists in Asaba expressed deep disappointment and dissatisfaction with the Reps member, saying his representation since his assumption of office at the National Assembly has been a catalogue of disappointment, regrets and disillusionment.

The group in the statement signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Jude Nkemchor, and the Secretary; Mr. Christian Okeleke observed and noted four critical areas of abysmal failures by Hon. Okolie as the Representative of the People of Aniocha/Oshimili in the House of Representatives.

The group revealed that based on the concerns, they have gone ahead to initiate consultation with the people of the constituency on the way forward including the possibility of initiating a recall process.

The statement reads in full:

Ngozi Okolie’s Recall: We’ve started gathering signatures – Aniocha/Oshimili Group

*Okolie, A Scorecard of Dismal Failure*

From: Concerned Citizens of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency

We, the concerned citizens of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, strongly and unequivocally express our deep dissatisfaction with Hon. Ngozi Lawrence Okolie, Member, representing our constituency in the House of Representatives. Since his assumption of office, his representation has been a catalogue of disappointments, regrets and disillusionment.

From across our Federal Constituency, the following observations have been made:

1. Lack of Visibility and Engagement:
Hon. Okolie has been completely ABSENT from the Constituency since his election. There has been no visible effort on his part to connect with the people, attend community events, or provide updates on his activities in the National Assembly. It is as though we do not have a representative.

2.Absence of Developmental Impact:
Since his assumption of office, Hon. Okolie has failed to attract or execute any meaningful development project or programme; a situation that has plunged the constituency into darkness with no noticeable improvements or projects to address our present needs. There are no meaningful contributions to infrastructure, education, healthcare, or empowerment programs for our people.

3.Failure to Carry Constituents Along:
Hon. Okolie remains characteristically aloof, cold and largely unapproachable to the people. He has failed to involve or consult with the people he represents. This disregard and insensitivity by Hon. Okolie has left us feeling like “sheep without a shepherd.” We believe representation should be inclusive and people-focused, but this has not been the case.

4.Leadership Concerns:
Hon. Okolie is a case of leadership failure. His attitude to leadership appears to be one of arrogance and self-centeredness, prioritizing personal interests over the collective good of the people, in total disregard to the required servant-leader deportment with the expected value and respect for the feeling of the constituent and dedication to meeting their needs.

Given these concerns, we have initiated consultations with the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency on the way forward, including the possibility of initiating a recall process.

We do not want a representative who is detached from the people, self-centered, and sees himself as a boss, without any tangible effort towards the wellbeing of the people.

Our people deserve but a servant-leader who is accountable, transparent, and committed to the progress of Aniocha/Oshimili and not sleeping, a self-centered bench warmer in the National Assembly who has no plans for his people.

Signed:

Comrade Jude Nkemchor
Coordinator, Concerned Citizens Of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency

Mr Christian Okeleke
Secretary, Concerned Citizens of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency
