The member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ngozi Okolie, has said that in his 18 months in the National Assembly, he has achieved more than what people who have been in the House achieved in four years.
Okolie, who won the House of Representatives on the platform of the Labour Party following the wave of Obidient Movement that swept across the country in 2023, told journalists in his home that he only does his projects for his people and goes away.
His reaction followed series of bashing that started pouring in in the last few days where a group under the aegis of Concerned Aniocha/Oshimili Constituents said the Reps member has not performed to expectations within the last 18 months he has been in the green chambers.
The accusers alleged that for the 18 months he has been in the national assembly he has not carried out any tangible project that is of benefit to the people of his constituency, hence the accusers said they would initiate process to recall him from the national assembly.
Another report emerged, accusing him of claiming projects done by other people as his constituency projects. Some also argued that he used people’s property to pose as his projects. But Okolie, in his address, dismissed all such as figments of the imagination of his detractors who are envious of his unbeatable success at the green chambers.
Okolie further said: “I don’t know which peoples projects I’m claiming. Obviously such statements are coming from people who are threatened by our success. If they say we are claiming peoples projects, let them bring the people whose projects we are claiming.
“They also said I’m telling people to donate their project, that is their level of knowledge or ignorance. I don’t want to go into some things. We will shock them this year. We will do more in this 2025.
“We have done solar street lights in Ebu, Egbudu Aka, Asaba and other places. We will put solar street light in Ubulu Uku. We gave 300 students scholarship of N100,000 each. The students are coming to thank us. We are doing our best to help our people.”
