I LOST THE ELECTION. CONGRATULATIONS TO OLOROGUN NGOZI OKOLIE.
When I set out to contest the Aniocha/Oshimili seat at the Federal House of Representatives, I believed I had the capacity to effectively represent my people in that exalted office.
But, at the same time, I wasn’t in doubt that the decision lay with the people, and power ultimately belonged to God.
Accordingly, I and my team did the much we could, in the very challenging circumstances, to put up a victorious outing.
From the early hours of today to this moment, I have been at the INEC office, awaiting the official announcement of the results.
Now, the election has come and gone, and the people have spoken.
The result has been officially announced by INEC. Olorogun Ngozi Okolie of the Labour Party has won the election.
The voice of the people is sacred and must remain inviolable.
I wish Olorogun Ngozi Okolie a successful tenure in office, as I pledge to always avail him of my advice whenever needed.
May I also use this opportunity to commend the efforts of my campaign team, members of my party APC, and the voting public who remained faithful to my vision and ideals.
Hopefully, some other day, a more amenable circumstance would arise for the successful expression of my ideals and convictions.
I thank you all and wish our Federal Constituency the best of times.
