An atmosphere of calm, unity and conviviality characterised the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 8 Congress held in Idumuje -Unor, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Ward comprising Idumuje-Unor, Idumuje-Ugboko and Idumuje-Aniofu, convened the Congress to elect officials who will steer the affairs of the party at the grassroots level.
The congress witnessed a large crowd of APC stakeholders amidst a peaceful setting, a notable departure from the tensions that have often accompanied partisan political activities.
Speaking at the event, the Returning Officer, Hon. Uche Chiejine, expressed satisfaction with the orderly and harmonious behaviour of stakeholders throughout the exercise.
He commended members for their enthusiastic participation, describing it as a clear demonstration of the Ward’s commitment to internal democracy and support for the Renewed Hope for M.O.R.E Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
At the conclusion of the congress, Mr. Peter Nzediunor emerged as Ward Chairman. Other elected officials include: Mrs. Josephine Moemeke (Vice Chairman); Mr. Harry Ogbechie (Secretary); Mrs. Esther Egbe (Woman Leader); Hon. Faith Nwoko (Assistant Woman Leader); Mr. Nwogu Chukwuma (Youth Leader); Hon. Edith Enunwa (Assistant Youth Leader); Mr. Clement Chiazor (Financial Secretary); Mrs. Evelyn Omile (Treasurer); Mr. Akabunwa Nonso (Organising Secretary); Mr. Nwokolo Ebube (Publicity Secretary); and Mr. Pius Odiaka (Auditor), among others.
Among the dignitaries who witnessed the Ward 8 Congress were the Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza; party stalwarts Hon. Sunny Ogwu and Hon. Moemeke; the Vice-Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Clara Nneka Dibia; Comrade Norbert Chiazor, Executive Assistant to the State Governor on Media; Sir Jossy Honnah, Executive Assistant in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government; Owen Dibia (Senior Special Assistant); Kido Mohanye (Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation); as well as the two Ward Councillors, Hon. Nnamdi Okonkwo and Hon. Ugo Enuemenem, alongside other party stakeholders.
The peaceful conduct of the congress was widely applauded by stakeholders, as a reflection of growing cohesion,discipline and maturity within the party at the grassroots level.
