APC crises: We’ve conducted Congress, any other one is a gimmick to distract the people – Zamfara Senator, Kabiru Marafa

The All Progressive Congress (APC) faction of Senator Kabiru Marafa’s in Zamfara State has said that it has conducted and  concluded its Congresses and the people should not be distracted by any other Congress.

According to Daily Post, the faction’s spokesman, Bello Bakyasuwa, who said that the exercise was peaceful,  also disclosed that there were thirty-two delegates from each ward and thirty delegates from each of the Local Government areas of the state.

He added that twenty-nine executive members were elected to handle the affairs of the faction for the next three years.

Bello also stressed that “Any state Congress arising from the camp of Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle is a gimmick to divert the attention of people”

He said: “Let me reiterate that this new leadership of Senator Marafa’s faction of APC in Zamfara State is very much aware of what’s happening within the party in the state.
“Therefore, with these solid Congresses of Senator Marafa’s faction, this party structure is very much in good shape.
“Since Matawalle’s camp was conducting its own Congress in Gusau, there was no reason to all conduct our own Congress in Gusau, the state capital due to security challenges”

Surajo Garba Maikatako Gusau was elected as the faction’s chairman while Abubakar Yargaida emerged as the state secretary of the party.
