As schools have opened for proper academic activities to kick off, it is important that parents, especially mothers, know the right words to speak to their kids. In previous times parents encouraged their kids to study hard so as to top the class. In those days, there were little or no distractions from electronic gadgets cum various cartoon networks including games embedded in mobile phones. Hence, children from enlightened homes had to study with a prize in view.
These prizes ranged from monetary gifts, books, bicycle and other mouth watering gifts. The truth is that no man runs a race and strives to win without any prize in view. Unfortunately, it is now very common to cajole kids to study with threats that indicate doom if failure happens. It is true that some schools give awards at the end of each session; however, the question is how solid or attractive these awards are.
Today, it is certain that some parents still encourage their kids with the right words. It is important to commend parents who have imbibed the culture of using rewards to encourage their kids to study. For those who are still threatening fire and brimstone on their kids, you need to understand that the prospect of success propels a man to prosper rather than the threat of failure. At a time when education is being disrupted by different elements, our kids at all level of learning need to be motivated by both parents and teachers to study for a prize.
For those whose kids are still at the elementary and secondary level of learning, encouraging them to pay attention during lessons on a daily basis has become paramount. This is because a lot has occupied their minds as a result of the long absence from classroom learning. This is in retrospection of the fact that some were under home tutorship. It was never the same as learning in a classroom setting.
There is another key to academic performance which is hinged on prompt payment of all educational bills of your kids. It is expected that your kids are well cared for in the school. However, when the dough is not available, a hungry teacher is unlikely to put in the best for the optimum impartation of knowledge on the kids.
