Gunmen are making life difficult for the people of Anambra state. Just as Willie Obiano, governor of Anambra state was celebrating his 7th year as governor, gunmen were raiding and killing security officers in the state.

Among security men killed were Naval officers, police officers, and staff of the state correctional centres, among others in a raid that caught the people unawares.
Some of the security personnel were killed on Thursday by gunmen in two different locations, their arms were removed and taken away by the hoodlums who reportedly set a police on fire.
Reports say these killings were Governor Obiano was celebrating his seventh year in office as governor of the Anambra state. Obiano reportedly promised to improve security while gunmen were killing security officers.
Our Correspondent gathered that, staff of Nigeria Correctional Service were escorting inmates to court in Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area when they were gunned down on the way by  unknown gunmen. The attack took place in Ekwulobia.
Our correspondent also gathered that at about 4am on the same Friday, a Police Station in Ekwulobia was attacked by gunmen, but were quickly repelled by Policemen on duty.
It would be recall that Ekwulobia Police Station was among the Police Stations, which was razed down during the EndSARS protest, but was recently rebuilt.
Confirming the incident, the Spokesperson of Anambra State  Police Command,  DSP Ikenganyia Tochukwu said the incident was very unfortunate.
According to him, Police operatives swiftly responded and chased the hoodlums away and said investigation is ongoing to arrest the perpetrators of this act.
Reacting, the Public Relations Officer of Anambra State command of the Nigeria Correctional Services, Mr. Francis Ekechukwu who confirmed the attack, said that the Command has been devastated by the news of the attack.
“You know this (attacks) have been on for sometime now, but we never envisaged it will get to us. Yes, there was an attack on our men, and two persons were killed. One of them is our staff, but the other is not.
“We are still investigating. We will issue a press release about this soon, but for now, we are trying to unravel how it happened and to go after the criminals. It was a gun duel, but two people were killed as a result,” he said.
