At a recent event organized by the PDP-GF in Abuja, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, who was the PDP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, called for the revival of the party to regain its dominant leadership position in Nigeria and Africa.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by the party and suggested that a whole day seminar should be organized to address these issues. Abubakar also congratulated all governors-elect and urged party members to unite in the effort to reclaim the party’s mandate.

“We have a number of challenges. We started as a dominant political party in 1999 and since then, we have been receding.

“I think it is time for us to take stock and find out why we are receding and how we can make sure that our eminent position as the leading political party in this country, as the oldest political party in this country, we regain our position.

Former Vice-President Namadi Sambo also advised the PDP to be cautious about suspending members without due process.
