Principals of five boarding senior secondary schools in Yobe State have been suspended for various gross offences by the State Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Mohammed Sani Idriss.
This was disclosed by the commissioner on Thursday via his Facebook page.
The suspension letters were issued by the Executive Chairman Teaching Service Board in the state to the affected principals at the instance of the Commissioner Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Mohammed Sani Idriss, who paid surprise visit to Schools on Monday, the 6th of September, 2021.
He said, “Senior Vice Principals of the five schools have been directed to take charge of running the affairs of the schools with immediate effect.
“While the Teaching Service Board and the mother Ministry have deployed competent staff to assist in smooth running of the schools, and especially to ensure successful completion of the ongoing WAEC exams.
“The affected Principals would know their fate after facing a disciplinary committee to be constituted soon”, he posted.
DAILY POST gathered that, the affected principals were not in their various schools when the commissioner paid an unscheduled visits and that the Commissioner was unhappy with their attitudes.
