The fight between SS and SE is the most Inconsequential fight I have witnessed.
The SE should bear in mind that in pushing for the Biafran Republic they should not be seen to be forcing others into another forced amalgamation as of 1914. The other people should be allowed to decide for themselves if they will desire to join the new republic as a federating unit.
The real reason for the push back by the SS in my opinion is simply fear of domination. They have suffered serious and debilitating domination and they genuinely fear another in the proposed new republic.
The constant narrative to make the peoples of the SS look like saboteurs who sabotaged the Biafran dream in 1967 is the most foolish narrative I see almost always.
To the SS, let’s calm down. We must begin the pursuit of what we want whether it be in the Nigerian, Biafran or Niger Delta Federation.
The SE aren’t the enemies. We must know who are our enemies and set out strategies to combat them.
Our quick recourse to ” them want our oil and sea” doesn’t cut it. It is another foolish narrative. As at today are we in control of the oil? Let us come together and push for a favorable position in anywhere we will find ourselves.
To both sides these constant bickering is shameful, for while we bicker the real enemies come in and steal what the both sides own and continue to sow discord.
Always remember the SS and SE are not enemies and shouldn’t be.
Rt. Hon. Speaker of the Massess Assembly.
The writer made a lot of great points. D demon bedeviling nigeria today is “forced amalgamation of d many nations”, and it’ll be foolhardy to allow repeat in d new countries. Referendum is d solution, and let it reign today; first Biafra was a child of survival instinct without referendum, and therefore should not be taken as pure fact unnegotiable today. D urgency of d moment, namely Fulani ferfdom against entire south, should not relegate referendum to d background, even though d entire south should unite to fight and win its freedom from Fulani. D SE and igbo speaking parts of Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Benue states are already pre-united by by divine grace of natural linguism, but referendum also should be respected to accord these igbo speaking towns d liberty to decide if they want to join d greater SE as a unified whole.
