A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mogaji Joseph Tegbe, has dumped the party for its arch-rival, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to POLITICS NIGERIA, Tegbe is being penciled down as the PDP candidate for Oyo central senatorial district, hence, ceteris paribus, he will drop his gubernatorial ambition.
He is also believed to have a good relationship with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the APC in Oyo state, Adeniyi Akintola, has expressed his readiness to contest the governorship seat.
Speaking recently at his Agodi-GRA home in company with party leaders from the 33 local governments of Oyo state, Akintola said if the national executive of the party failed to act quickly to resolve the lingering leadership crisis rocking the Oyo state chapter of the APC, the target of regaining the state was in danger.
This newspaper recalls that the legal practitioner also sought the APC ticket in 2018, but he was asked to step down for Adebayo Adelabu.
