Agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Nsima Ekere.
According to POLITICS NIGERIA, Ekere is being investigated over diversion of over N47billion in public funds through bogus contracts.
Ekere’s arrest is coming a few days after the country’s accountant-general, Ahmed Idris was also arrested for fraud to the tune of N80 billion.
Idris is still in the custody of the anti-graft agency and was earlier today suspended from office by the country’s finance minister, Zainab Ahmed.
EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren has confirmed that Ekere is in their custody. He is currently being grilled by operatives of the anti-graft commission.
