The management and board of Shoprite Nigeria has concluded plans to pull out of Nigeria.
Shoprite, the South African company says it is considering selling out all its sales outlets in the country.
It says its decision on that was based on the coronavirus pandemic which has impacted negatively on their business.
Shoprite has shops in virtually all major cities in Nigeria.
In a statement, it says: “The Board has decided to initiate a formal process to consider the potential sale of all, or a majority stake, in Retail Supermarkets Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Shoprite International Limited.”
