He called on the Rivers State Government to reconsider these taxation policies and explore more sustainable and supportive measures that foster the growth and development of small businesses in Rivers State. Collaborative efforts between the government and business community are essential to drive economic progress and create a favorable environment for entrepreneurship.”
According to him,” I esteem it necessary to unequivocally state here as a concerned small business owner in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, regarding the current situation of multiple taxations enforced by the State government. No doubt, these multiple taxations are significantly impacting the operations of SMEs and small business owners in the region.”
“The deliberate imposition of multiple taxations appears to be aimed at suffocating the growth and sustainability of businesses, making it exceedingly challenging for us to thrive in the current economic environment. As small business owners, we are already facing hardships where our outflows are exceeding our inflows, leading to financial strain and difficulty in meeting operational expenses.”
“It is disheartening to witness the adverse effects that these taxation measures are having on businesses. Many establishments have suffered a decline in customer patronage as a result of escalating costs, and some are struggling to meet the financial obligations, including the payment of salaries to their employees.”
” Instead of providing support and conducive business environment, the introduction of multiple taxes by the State government is further exacerbating the challenges faced by small enterprises.”
“As someone who is directly impacted by these policies, I fail to comprehend the reasoning behind the decision to introduce such burdensome taxes under the guise of revenue generation. The current situation is not only regrettable but also unjustifiable.”
” The imposition of excessive taxes is placing undue pressure on businesses, hindering growth prospects, and jeopardizing the livelihoods of many individuals who depend on these enterprises for their income.”
“I urge the authorities to reconsider these taxation policies and explore more sustainable and supportive measures that foster the growth and development of small businesses in Rivers State. Collaborative efforts between the government and business community are essential to drive economic progress and create a favorable environment for entrepreneurship.”
