As crisis continues to rock the unity of Nigeria, various sections and ethnic groups are calling for secession from the bigger Nigeria. For a long time now, the eastern states have constituted themselves into Biafra Republic and a map has been drawn.
It is being championed by Nnamdi Kanu under the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Although the ordinary people are ready for the secession, the politicians and the government officials who should push are acting very sluggish in the open.
Now, following the challenge being poses by the Fulani herdsmen across the nation, the Yoruba under the aegis of Oduduwa are calling for the Republic of Oduduwa. The map of Oduduwa comprising all Western states has been drawn.
But the two maps of Biafra and Oduduwa are seen screaming for Delta cities. Both maps have selected promising cities in Delta into their territories.
They are seeing Delta as their territory where they have right to drag into their map without consulting the people in the area. In the map of Oduduwa, it has Benin, Sapele, Warri, Uromi and Auchi. The map of Biafra contains Asaba, Asaba and Warri.
You can see that both maps are interested in Warri. But why are they interested in Warri? They are interested in the oil in Delta state. They know that Warri is the heart of oil in Delta, hence they are scrambling for the city to be included in their map.
They have forgotten that the people of Delta and Warri have their decision to make when the chips are down. The Niger Delta people are also promoting Niger Delta Republic for the people of the region.
