Church leaders and professionals have been urged to exhibit courage, tenacity and steadfastness in their God given positions.
The charge came on the heels of the Ministers/Professionals conference held during the Global Crusade with Pastor Kumuyi in Yola, Adamawa state.
Speaking on “the divinely transformed minister for a triumphant ministry”, the convener of the programme and General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi noted that every minister needed courage and tenacity not wavering faith that will lead to nowhere.
The man of God revealed that a courageous leader will not hesitate to stand upon the word of God and tell his people that Christ is the only way, and no other way or name given for man to be saved.
Drawing his message from Joshua 1:1-2; Pastor Kumuyi made allusion to Moses and Joshua’s performances in their different assignments, adding that church leaders are not in the Ministry for the position, nomenclature, or for the title of Pastor, Bishop, Prophet, Evangelist or the position they hold, but are there to do something specific.
“The Lord has called you into leadership in your small community, moderate church assembly, in that state, region, anywhere, and everywhere. In such ministry, you need courage, not the wavering type that makes you oscillate between courage and nowhere.
“Courage every time with tenacity, in every situation, with the spirit of God abiding within you. You have gathered enough experience, but some new things will happen which you have never seen before. Courage in leadership in things past, present and in future.
“You must be steadfast at all times, not strong today, weak and confused tomorrow. The road is always clear for the steadfast. Moses told Joshua in the presence of the people to be courageous. He knew what it meant to lead the mixed multitude. This was what Aaron lacked when at Moses’ absence, he succumbed to the people and raised an altar to a strange god for them when they were about to stone him. He knew the right but did the wrong because of lack of courage.
“The courageous leader will stand upon the word and tell his people that Christ is the only way, and no other way or name given for man to be saved. Whatever happens, familiar or otherwise, he stands his ground. Moses told Joshua to be strong. What does this mean? To be strong in the heart, spirit, in the inner man, courage in the inner man, soul and spirit.”
“Have courage so that whatever you are hearing, you will not run away from ministry. Do what the Lord has shown you to do. The Lord will go before you in His power, strength and might. Signs and wonders will go before you, He will not leave or forsake you. Fear not, never be dismayed. The Lord will back you up. He promised to be with you.”
