The Delta state Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi on Tuesday visited the secretariat of the Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria Delta chapter.
The meeting was comprised of spiritual leaders from the CPFN and leaders/pastors under the PFN.
Present at the gathering were Pastor Samuel Emuotu, financial secretary CPFN/PFN, Bishop Dr. Sam Oyedu PFN state treasurer, Bishop Abos Willie, General secretary PFN Delta state and Pastor Nathan Onakpanu, Chairman CPFN Delta state.
The auditorium was packed with men of God who came out in curiosity to listen to the candidate.
In his welcome address, the Delta state chairman of the PFN Bishop Kingsley, said Nigeria is looking for righteous people to lead.
He expressed pleasure that Kenneth Gbagi has respected the Christian body in Delta state and has come to seek the church’s blessings.
He described Gbagi as a man with a good heart and the fear of God.
Addressing the men of God, Gbagi expressed his desires to liberate Delta from poverty and insecurity.
He reiterated that the problem Delta has is myopic leaders. He has promised not to repeat the same mistakes in his administration.
Gbagi also took a swipe at those planning to vote in muslim president in 2023 general election.
He strongly warned Nigerians against voting in a Muslim president.
While fielding questions in the meeting, he spoke strongly against herders and declared that when he wins the election he would place embargo on the free movement of cow herders in the state.
Also on the issue of education, he promised to revitalize the state of education, promising scholarships for Deltans from primary to tertiary levels.
According to Gbagi, Delta state is the richest in the country and also richer than 42 independent countries in the world. And it his intention to restore the lost glory of the state.
True to his philanthropic efforts, Gbagi donated 5 million naira to the PFN, and 2 million to CPFN.
The meeting was capped by a prayer session where all the members of the clergy surrounded him and made prayers on his behalf for a successful election.
