As Delta State celebrates its 34th anniversary, top government aides—Barrister Newworld Safugha, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Renewable Energy, and Hon. Simeon Daregha, Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters—have applauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and past leaders for steering the state toward remarkable growth and transformation.
In his goodwill message, Safugha praised the effective leadership of successive administrations, noting that Delta has become “the pride of Nigeria” through advancements in infrastructure, education, youth empowerment, peaceful coexistence, human capital development, sports, political stability, and ethnic unity.
He attributed the state’s steady progress to respect for leadership, collective support for governance, and the people’s confidence in their leaders.
Safugha highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s achievements within just two years in office, describing his projects as “landmark and people-oriented to the glory of God.”
He thanked Deltans for their contributions to state development and urged them to sustain their confidence in leadership while reflecting on ways to promote the collective well-being of the state.
Echoing these sentiments, Hon. Daregha said the anniversary was a moment to celebrate God’s faithfulness to the state, its communities, and families.
He commended the visionary leadership of past and present governors, noting that their dynamic qualities, combined with the people’s sense of shared responsibility, have driven Delta’s impressive development across all regions.
Daregha further called on citizens to remain committed to community service and always place the state’s interest above personal gains, stressing that such dedication would help fulfill the dreams of Delta’s founding fathers and leave lasting legacies for future generations.
