Arrangement has been concluded for the 44th National Congress of the Men’s Missionary Union (MMU) of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) in Asaba, the Delta State Capital.
The National Congress is being hosted by the Delta Baptist Conferences.
Delta Baptist Conferences comprise of Anioma Baptist Conference, Ethiope Baptist Conference and Providence Baptist Conference.
According to a statement by the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee; Deacon M. O. Utake, and Secretary; Deacon Ben Olokume, the MMU National Congress will commence on Tuesday, August 20, 2024
The three day event which ends on Friday, August 23, 2024, will have the President and Spiritual Leader of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, His Eminence, Rev’d Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji in attendance to declare the National Congress open.
The Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori is also being expected to grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour.
Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Ultra-Modern Christian Centre, Asaba is the venue for the Congress.
The National Congress, with the theme, “Wonders Without Numbers”, will have the MMU National President, Dr. Soye Peniel Asawo, leading top officials of the Organisation, made up of entire men of the Baptist denomination in Nigeria, to the Congress.
It will feature spiritual revival, dynamic teachings and business Networking.
His Eminence, The Rev’d Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji will be leading other top resources persons and renowned Baptist Ministers to deliver paper and Minister at the National Congress.
Those slated to speak at the event include, former Vice President Ministerial, Nigerian Baptist Convention; Rev. Dr. Dickson Madoghwe, National Director MMU, Nigerian Baptist Convention; Rev Dr. Festus Akinola, National Chaplain, MMU, Nigerian Baptist Convention; Rev. Dr. Chike Ossai-Ugbah and Rev. Dr. Samson Adedokun; Deputy National Chaplain MMU, Nigerian Baptist Convention amongst others.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) in the statement said the event is scheduled to commence at 10 Am daily and accordingly extend invitations to the general public to attend.
