Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged investors—especially Deltans at home and abroad—to seize the opportunities created by the state’s improving socio-economic environment and invest in Delta now.
Speaking on Friday in Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area, during the commissioning of the Swiss International Rancho Valerie Hotel, a multi-million-naira hospitality and tourism landmark, the Governor declared that “the time to invest in Delta State is now.”
“Warri is rising again. Delta State is progressing steadily. The shadows of yesterday have given way to today’s bright possibilities and tomorrow’s greater promises,” he said.
Describing the new hotel as a bold testament to Warri’s resurging economic strength, Governor Oborevwori directed the immediate rehabilitation of the failed sections of the Ubeji/Egbokodo/Refinery Road.
He noted that the establishment of the hotel is proof of renewed investor confidence in the state, adding that Warri is fast reclaiming its place as Delta’s commercial and tourism hub.
According to the Governor, the hospitality facility will not only offer premium lodging but also boost local businesses, create jobs, enhance community peace, and significantly contribute to Delta’s socio-economic development.
“This hotel is not just another project; it is a clear statement that Delta State is open for business. It affirms that our state is safe, investor-friendly, and ready for world-class hospitality and tourism ventures,” he stated.
Governor Oborevwori hailed the vision and determination of the hotel’s owner, Mr. Mode Akoma, praising his decision to invest in his home community rather than outside the state.
“If you had invited me to commission a hotel built elsewhere, I would not have come. I am proud that you chose to develop your community. This project brings jobs, peace, and progress,” he added.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure renewal, improved security, and investor-friendly policies under the MORE Agenda, stressing that success stories like Swiss International Rancho Valerie highlight the vast investment opportunities across Delta State.
Earlier, the hotel’s General Manager, Mr. Todowede Opeyemi, said the facility is positioned to deliver first-class hospitality services that meet global standards. He noted that the management is committed to supporting the state’s development and unlocking its tourism potential.
“Every guest deserves more than a stay; they deserve an unforgettable experience that reflects our culture, our hospitality, and our warmth as a people,” Opeyemi said.
