The Delta State Ministry Of Environment has embarked on massive sensitization and awareness creation exercise which kicked off from the state secretariat to Nnebisi road, Ogbegonogo market, Dennis Osadebay, Abraka market, Ezenei road, Cable, DLA road, Summit road in Asaba Oshimili south local government area, Okpanam road and Ibusa Oshimili North local government area.
Mr Lucky Adah Director Sanitation and Waste Management led some staff of the ministry and Delta State Command Peace Corp with public address system for the sensitization exercise.
It was aimed at further imploring the residents on the need to cut vegetation, keep their environment clean at all times, register with the accredited Private Sector Participants ( PSPs), for proper disposal of waste to government approved dumpsites.
He advised against indiscriminate waste disposal in media kerbs and undeveloped plot, and bagged the waste properly before final disposal.
During the sensitization exercise, refuse bags were distributed along side with summary abatement and abatement notices for compliance within three days.
