In order to continuously preserve the environment, the Delta State Ministry of Environment carried out sensitization exercise to Koka junction, Ibusa Road and Ezenei Road in Asaba, Delta State.
The traders along the Ibusa junction and Ezenei road close to the expressway were also sensitized on how to keep their environment clean by bagging their wastes properly before final disposal using accredited Private Sector Participants ( PSPs).
During the sensitization exercise, the officers of the ministry observed overgrown vegetations and litters on the road.
The officer issued abatement notices to defaulting residents for not keeping their environment clean within a time frame.
Immediately after the sensitization exercise, the ministry carried out massive clearing of silts and litters picking from Ibusa road and Ezenei road using manual labours, hired tippers which were used for disposing the resultant debris appropriately to government approved dumpsite.
The Director for Sanitation and Waste Management, Mr. Lucky Adah, stated that people should keep their environment clean, noting that clean environment attracts tourism and promote healthy living.
