The Mayor of Urhoboland, Eshanakpe Israel, a.k.a Akpodoro, has called on the All Progressives Congress, APC administration and the incoming President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to consider Olorogun O’tega Emerhor for ministerial appointed in his government.

General Israel Eshanekpe aka Akpodoro

Akpodoro stated this in Abuja Monday at the heels of a well attended stakeholders meeting saying Olorogun Emerhor was a pioneer chieftain of the APC in the state and the first to fly the flag of the broom party in the oil-rich state.

Akpodoro noted that Emerhor deserved to be a appointed a senior minister in President Tinubu’s cabinet having contributed immensely to the growth and development of the state chapter of the APC.

The Urhobo Mayor further stated that while politicians feared ushering in APC into the state at its formative stage, Olorogun Emerhor gallantly welcomed and went ahead to be the first person to fly the party’s flag as its Senatorial candidate in 2013 after the demise of Senator Pius Ewerido.”

Furthermore, Akpodoro who is also an ex-militant leader of note in the Delta region stated that it is trite to let the APC and the president-elect to reward loyalty and solidarity by ensuring that those who planted, fostered, nutured the party to growth are adequately compensated adding that without them, there won’t be APC in the state.

Akpodoro’s statement is coming as a result of the labyrinth of rumours that new entrants into the party are being considered for appointment leaving behind old members who are considered pillars of the ruling party at the centre stressing that, politics is about adequately rewarding those who are loyal to the party.

The Urhobo Delta-born Olorogun Emerhor, Akpadoro noted is the best candidate for ministerial appointment because none of the “self acclaimed APC members in the state” has made one tenth of the contributions the financial expert has made before and now to the party.

“It then behoves on the party to ensure that this popular politician with large followership in the state and beyond is rewarded. His body, soul and spirit are of APC and he is not a turncoat. An APC aborigin cannot be sidelined in time like this for political jobbers,” the Mayor stated.
