On June 28, 2021 three young men by the names Monday Nwite, 27 years, Madabuchi Nweke, 26years and Sunday Nwite, 21yreas all from Ebenta village in Ohaukwu LGA, Ebonyi State were arrested over the possession of fresh human blood in a container.
According to Delta State Police public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe, the three suspects were apprehended by Dragon patrol team who were on stop and search duty at Nsukwa junction along Ogwashi-Uku/Kwale road.
The Dragon patrol team had stopped a commuter sienna bus traveling from Asaba to Kwale, all passengers in the sienna were asked to submit themselves for search. It was during the search that the three suspects were found with fresh human blood in a container.
The three suspects were immediately arrested. It was during interrogation the suspects confessed to have murdered some unknown persons in Ebonyi State and were on their way to submit the blood for ritual purposes to a native doctor who lives in Kwale. The native doctor’s identity is yet unknown.
Aside from the container filled with blood, a rosary necklace tied with charms was also recovered from the suspects. According to the police, investigation is still ongoing.
