The chairman of the community, chiefs, youth leaders were present.

The members of the community welcomed the candidate with happiness and dances.

The Burutu indigenes represented by the chairman came out to welcome Gbagi officially to the community.

In his speech, SDP Chairman Delta state, Hon Oke Idawene challenged the Burutu people to take a stand in the upcoming elections. He said ” Burutu is the richest oil local government area in Delta “but wetin Burutu do Delta?”

How we go take only water dey come Burutu? No road? No schools? This condition is enough to vote out bad leaders.

They go to Abuja collect money for project but pocket it for personal use. No be only fish Burutu people go dey do. Burutu youths must get job.

Women go get money for business. Burutu go get light, and bridge”.

There is no more selling of votes and stealing ballot boxes. Don’t sell your votes, vote for development.

Rosemary Oshilim addressing the people of Burutu, thanked them for their hospitality.

She expressed her gratitude for being the running mate to Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi.

“In 8years what do we have to show? We need to take a stand, the good news for the youths is that Kenneth Gbagi is here to remove the youths from the streets.

Our mothers need to enjoy the fruit of their labour. Different opportunities will exist. The only thing that can make us win is your vote”.

Continuing she said, “bring your PVC and vote for SDP. If all of us gathered here today take action then we will make it.”

Hon Eniye Sawacha Junior, House of Assembly candidate for Burutu North constituency 1 who is an indigene of Burutu spoke with so much pain.

He said “where is our 13% as an oil producing area?

There is nothing in Burutu, our sea port which was the biggest in west Africa is now a rag.

I have a father in Gbagi, and I believe that he will listen to our cry. We have been suffering in Burutu under PDP.

Only Burutu local government is feeding Nigeria but we’re all so poor.

Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi crowned the event with a rousing speech that called out the people to take the step that would begin the change that can make Burutu the place it should be be.

“Burutu requires a developmental revolution.  From 1998 till date there has been no change in Burutu.

“So many structures that were standing before are no longer standing. The money coming from Burutu is sweet but the land is not developed”.

“Within six months of my government, I will ensure that this community is developed to standard.

“I have done it before.  As a minister for education under Goodluck Jonathan, I brought in several academic institutions that are of note.

For the last one and half month I have been designing the bridge to Burutu, if that bridge gets here, Burutu will turn to London because the bridge is a must do.

I in my estate will build a 200 room hotel in Burutu.

From Warri to Ijaw no other area is as lucky as this area.

“This water that is being taken for granted, is supposed to be raking in billions of naira

I would bring in expatriates to turn Burutu to a tourist attraction. This place is a treasure. Get ready, there will be a revolution in development here.

“The money is there to carry out these projects but because of fear of exposure your governments have left you in poverty.

In my first three months in office I will establish the foundation of the bridge.

Gbagi reiterated “I am not corruptible that is why they’re afraid of me coming into government.

Our mothers and fathers do not have enough to send their children to school.

“Delta state  children must go to school even if we have to force them. Free education for our children is what I am promising. You must vote SDP. Vote the Horse

We will join hands and make Burutu a great place”.
