Deltans from the 25 local government areas of the state on Saturday stormed Warri as Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi begins the journey for 2023 governorship race under the Social Democratic Party.
All languages and ethnic groups in the state were represented in the expansive land purposely cleared for the grand event. It is a day of full declaration for the Social Democratic Party, under which Gbagi is set to run for the 2023 governorship.
Gbagi, who is seen as the man to beat in the race is one of the four major contenders for the coveted office in the state. Others in the race are Sheriff Oborevwori of the PDP, Ovie Omo-Agege of the APC and Great Ovedje Ogboru of APGA.
Gbagi, among these contenders, has cut his teeth in politics and is prepared to slug it out and win the guber race. The crowd already seated at the expansive arena indicate that Gbagi is needed at the Delta government house in 2023.
Most of the people who spoke to Emerald News prior to the main event expressed optimism that Gbagi is the man of the moment.
According to them, he is needed in the state government house following the failure of the PDP in the last 22 years.
The stage is set as national leaders of the party have flown in from Abuja to join i the ground breaking event.
