A socio-political group, known as Delta Youths For Positive Governance, has applauded the former minister of state for education, Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi, for emerging the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta state.
The convener of the group, Comrade Peters Eguono, disclosed that the decision of Olorogun Gbagi to pitch tent with the SDP was a welcome development and should be encouraged.
Speaking in a telephone conversation, Eguono extolled Gbagi’s invaluable efforts in ensuring that youths in the state are engaged through his Gbagi Shopping Malls which has taken over 5, 000 youths out of the street.
“I am impressed with Gbagi’s youth emancipation programme for Delta youths and those resident in the state, his policies to end insecurity or bring it to the barest minimum, when he assumes office as governor, is second to none”.
While expressing satisfaction that Gbagi would emerge victorious at the 2023 polls, he noted that in less than few weeks that Gbagi joined the SDP, the party has received national recognition.
“Your commitment in pursuit of equity and fairness speaks volume in the cooperation displayed by you. This indeed demonstrates the camaraderie that made me to champion this group for him.
“The party primaries was peaceful and the delegates have selected the candidate to carry the SDP flag in the 2023 governorship poll. Today, as a supporter of Gbagi, I trust that
SDP members and stakeholders will come together to work with him to win the 2023 elections.
“He is our friend and brother. We know his commitment, his track records and his capacity to lead the state to success. So now is the time for all of us to come together and march forward to victory,” the convener said.
