Delta2023: Why Gbagi stands shoulder higher than other gladiators

Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi the Delta governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party SDP has weathered the storm and is gallantly pulling the shots to his advantage. He unveiled his interest in the governorship of Delta state in 2019. And since 2019, Gbagi has consistently stared the ship and within the next few days the election will be staring us in the face.

Although there have been stiff oppositions from varied quarters, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, a man with unassuming personality has never dreamt of giving up the race. He has weathered through series of storms and is gallantly swimming to the victory land. Many Deltans had thought he would give up since he started so early but they miscalculated.

Despite the challenge that arose from the primaries of the People’s Democratic Party PDP leading to his exit from the ruling party in the state, Gbagi has remained resilient in his drive to pursue the governorship until the day of the election.

The plot was to edge him out of the race but rather than weaken his resolve, he garnered more energy to surmount seemingly insurmountable obstacles and is today standing as the single individual to have sponsored one of the largest governorship campaign without government funding in the history of Delta state.

Since the beginning of true democracy in 1999, no governorship candidate had singlehandedly sponsored a statewide campaign and rallies as Gbagi has done and is doing in the build up to the historic governorship election. The two ruling parties which are powerfully funded by government money took him for a ride when the race began but today, Gbagi is their biggest threat as the election kicks off in few days from now.

Gbagi has singlehandedly sponsored the campaign, leading his foot soldiers from local government to local government, from community to community across the three senatorial districts of the state. He has circumvented all obstacles put on his way by political detractors and is perceptibly appearing to be the candidate to beat in the most keenly contested election in the history of Delta state.

Among the three contenders in the persons of Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic Party SDP, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori of the People’s Democratic Party PDP and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress APC, Gbagi is emerging as the candidate with no corruption toga attached his personality. He stands shoulder taller than others in whatever matter one could raise in the battle for the soul of Delta.

Gbagi’s undying determination for the salvation of Delta state from the inglorious years of servitude to slave masters is seen in his quest to liberate the state, through job creation, free education from primary to tertiary institutions, payment of N30,000 to youths prior to when he would create jobs for them, rejuvenation of all dead and moribund industries, creating a better life for all Deltans across the state and leaving behind a legacy of an industrialized state.

Others who are trudging behind in the persons of Sunny Ofehe of Young People’s Party (YPP), Agbi Goodnews of New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP), Great Ovedje Ogboru of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Deacon Ken Pela of the Labour Party have never done one third of what Kenneth Gbagi has done in terms of campaigns, rallies, town hall meetings, individual visitations among others. Some of these individuals are solely interested in writing their names as former governorship candidates in Delta state.

But Gbagi, a leading gladiator has inked his name in gold as the single individual to have traversed the entire state without the input of powerful individuals or governments in the state or nation. His ambition is driven by the need to change the status quo, open up job opportunities for all Deltans, create liveable environment for all and deploy the huge resources in the state for the overall good of all residents in the state.

On several occasions, Gbagi has announced that he is not running the race for any personal ambition. He has said that he has acquired wealth that could keep his family and children for generations. But seeing the condition of the people of Delta he is moved to run the race, overtake others who are recycling the power house among their cabals but holding Deltans ransom with the unacceptable excuse of no money to execute life changing projects.

Arising from his quest for a better and conducive environment for all, different bodies, organizations, groups, individuals and churches have endorsed his candidacy for the governorship race. There has been an avalanche of endorsement from all over the state, considering his wealth of knowledge, capacity, competence and the political will to challenge the troubles inhibiting the progress of the state.

A study of his manifesto and programmes will reveal that Gbagi’s dream for a new Delta supercedes the programmes of his compatriots who are contesting the election with him in the state. While other two gladiators are campaigning with the names of their masters at both federal and state levels, Gbagi is working on a clean slate for the people of Delta state, hinged on a new and rebranded Delta.

Gbagi is running a campaign of ending the massive corruption in Delta state. He has consistently said that Delta is richer than 42 countries put together but the endermic corruption which is in the Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) of authorities in the state, the necessary funding needed to put the state on the spotlight is being frittered away to foreign lands.

Gbagi’s campaign is to wake Deltans from political and economic slumber and reclaim the glory of Delta from the slave masters. For him, Deltans cannot remain slaves for life. He is intent on creating a Delta where everyone will have unlimited access to the beautiful things of life and enjoy the world of limited possibilities.

But for this great vision to be actualised, Gbagi is making an appeal to all Deltans. The appeal is for Deltans to drop the toga of party is supreme and vote for a candidate with the political will, the capacity to turn the economy of the state around, who will build industries and champion needed development across the state and build bridges of unity and cohesion across the ethnic divides in Delta. And the only candidate who is set to do that is Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party SDP.
