Candidate of Accord Party (AP) in the forthcoming Delta State House of Assembly election for Ughelli South constituency, Revd Udumebraye Dave Osiobe, has called on the good people of Ughelli South Constituency especially the youths to initiate a debate or a platform through which all party candidates vying fo DTHA can present their manifesto.
Revd Osiobe stated this while paying a consultative visit to the Executive of Otokutu Community in Ughelli South LGA of Delta State.
The Accord Party candidate said it was very important that all the 14 DTHA candidates that are made up of both gender should come out boldly to tell the people of Ughelli South why they should be voted for.
“It is high time we spelt out the criteria that will qualify anyone coming out for an elective position from the ward level to the top”, he said.
Osiobe added: “If we must enjoy the dividends of government in Ughelli South Constituency, then the constituents must be at alert to decide who represents them”.
While presenting his blueprint of development, the Graceman, Revd Osiobe, lamented that Otokutu his maternal community where he grew up and the Ekakpamre Ward in general have been marginalized and have not tested any tangible elective position except the position of a Ward Councilor over the years.
He appealed to the people of one of the fastest growing community in Ughelli South to support him to win the DTHA seat, promising to touch lives in all the communities in Ughelli South.
While responding, Comrade Peter Omavuaye Police, President General Otokutu Community, thanked God that an illustrious son of Otokutu is taking the bull by the horn.
After pledging support, he prayed for him to succeed in his political pursuit, explaining that he see good qualities in Osiobe most especially been a man of God, he is fit for the job.
Comrade Police added that except the Lord build the house the labourers labour but in vain, he prayed God to take over the race to the DTHA for Revd Osiobe.
High point of the ceremony was the handing over of 100 forms for empowerment training on different skills and scholarship from Revd Osiobe Skills Acquisition Programme (OSAP) to the President-General of Otokutu Community, Comrade Police for distribution to residents of Otokutu.
