As Christians in Nigeria and around the world celebrate Easter, Victor Ochei, President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, has called on citizens to reflect on the core values of hope, sacrifice, and renewal symbolized by the season.
In his Easter message released on Sunday, Ochei extended warm felicitations to Christian faithful, describing the occasion as both sacred and uplifting.
He emphasized that Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and represents a profound triumph of life over death, hope over despair, and light over darkness.
According to him, the season serves as a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice of Christ, whose resurrection continues to inspire faith, unity, and optimism for a better future.
He urged Nigerians to draw strength from this message, particularly in the face of ongoing social and economic challenges.
Ochei noted that Easter encourages individuals to remain steadfast, embrace love, and promote peace within their communities.
He added that the celebration provides an opportunity for collective reflection and a renewed commitment to building a society founded on compassion, justice, and shared prosperity.
“Easter is a season that renews our strength and rekindles our resolve to serve humanity and pursue righteousness,” he stated.
He concluded his message by wishing all Christian faithful a blessed, peaceful, and fulfilling Easter celebration, expressing hope that the joy of the risen Christ would continue to guide and strengthen them.
Easter is widely observed by Christians as a central event in the Christian calendar, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ and symbolizing spiritual renewal and redemption.
