The revelation made available to journalists by sacked Adamawa APC senator, Elisha Abbo has sent shiver into the spine of the remaining 107 Nigerian senators.
Sacked Senator Elisha Abbo represented Adamawa north since 2019 and ran for second term where he was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the February 18, 2023 general elections.
But he was sacked by the Appeal court sitting in Abuja on Monday, October 16, 2023. Following his sack, he has made some revelations that is unsettling the remaining senators of the upper chamber.
Specifically, he said his sack was due to his unfriendly disposition to the senate president, Godswill Akpabio. He said the senate president was allegedly behind his sack by the Appeal court.
He claimed that Akpabio is systemically removing those who opposed his emergence as Senate President from the Upper Chamber.
Abbo also said that four senators have been earmarked for removal, noting that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia North) is the next to be removed.
Speaking with reporters after the court verdict, Abbo fingered Akpabio as the hidden hand behind his travails.
“I have it from a reliable source that myself and four other senators within the fold of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will be removed from the Senate through rulings from the courts, all because of working against the emergence of Akpabio as President of the 10th Senate.
“I won’t mention the names of all the four other ones targeted but the next in line is Senator Orji Uzor Kalu,” Abbo said in Abuja on Monday.
This revelation has sent shiver down the spine of senators, especially Orji Kalu whom he mentioned as the next man to be removed. The senators are apprehensive as many of them have pending cases at the appeal courts in Abuja and Lagos.
