Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Francis Orhowedor Oborevwori assumed office on May 29, 2023, with a firm commitment on his mission and vision for Delta state.
His vision is “To run an open, responsive government that meets the needs, and aspirations of our people through infrastructure development, growth in human capital and improved social harmony.”
One year down the line Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has kept faith with that pledge and as the May 29, 2024 one year anniversary countdown progresses steadily, Deltans across the three senatorial zones have continued to give glowing testimony to the visible and verifiable infrastructural projects which the administration has continued to deliver with unwavering determination.
Deltans, especially those in the Warri axis and Delta central are already feeling Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s impact and presence, as the construction giant, Julius Berger, has commenced work with full force on the N78billion Warri flyovers stellar project, which has not only pleasantly surprised and impressed our people, but has summarily silenced the detractors and naysayers who never believed that the project would even take-off.
Indeed, the testimonies and excitement from real Deltans, whose lives are being positively impacted with the delivery of these democracy dividends, not just in infrastructure, but across all the sectors of our socio-economic existence in the last one year, have justified Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s own pledged for Delta state.
The pledge is that: “As Governor, I am committed to building a Delta state that works for all. Through innovative programs and policies, we are promoting socio-economic development, improving healthcare delivery and empowering youths and women. These initiatives are just the beginning, and I am excited about what we can achieve together.”
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has fully embraced his mandate of transforming Delta and those who have taken time to observe and what is going on, will confirm that the state is now a massive construction site, as the administration continues to fulfill the promise of enhancing Delta state with Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and security; the MORE Agenda.
