The disunity and insecurity threatening Nigeria has gotten too bad to the extent that 61 years of Nigeria’s independence celebration was not marked with the Nigeria flags and white and green T-shirts on the citizenry in Asaba, Delta state.
This meduim reports that Nigeria flag was not seen standing tall as well as people collectively wearing Nigeria colours as it used to be in the past.
Emerald News gathered that one of the Pentecostal churches whose evangelism group was seen clad with green and white T-shirts as well as holding Nigeria flags was almost mobbed at the Mami market/Traffic Light area of Asaba, Delta state.
An eye witness told this meduim that the evangelism group members who were busy sharing tracts as well as preaching with their megaphone were interrupted by some angry youths who queried them on why they should wear Nigeria colour and flags in Biafra land.
Our source said that all attempts for the evangelists to explain to the angry youths that Nigeria needed Christ first of all to be peaceful proved abortive.
According to our source, the angry youths were disrupting their preaching which led to a fight.
This meduim gathered that when the evangelists saw that their attire was posing difficulties in their mission, some of them went to a corner and pulled off their T-shirts.
The evangelism team members told this meduim that if not for the glory of God that covered them at that evangelism outreach, they would have been injured badly.
They thanked God whom they said shielded them from being wounded.
Our source added that the evangelists complained that they have not had this kind of attack in the past.
