The Canadian government has finally lifted the ban placed on Nigeria and nine other African countries.
It would be recalled that on December 1, the Canadian government placed the ban over fears of the new Omicron variant of COVID19.
Now, the ban has been lifted
This good news was announced by Canadian Minister of Health, Jean-Yves Duclos at a news conference on December 17.
According to him, the lifting of the travel ban would take effect from 11:59 pm on Saturday.
The travel restriction on flights is lifted on countries like Nigeria, South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Namibia, Malawi, and Egypt.
Duclos added that the pre-arrival negative PCR tests for all travellers would also be reinstated from December 21.
