2023 might be the year for Nigerians to take over the Guinness World Records (GWR).
Hilda Baci was still basking in her feat after cooking for 100 hours (for which GWR confirmed 93 hours), when Damilola Adeparusi embarked on 120 hours of cooking, which she accomplished.
Now, a computer science lecturer with the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Joshua Hassan is set for an ACA-A-THON event for the longest duration of lecturing, currently set at 150 hours.
The date for the academic to attempt this record is October 16, 2023.
Recall that Chef Dammy also undertook her cook-a-thon in Oye-Ekiti.
In related development, Oyinlola, a talented Nigerian painter who hopes to break the record for the longest painting session, has expressed her joy at Guinness World Records accepting her application.
The woman stated that the project will start on Saturday, October 28, and end on Monday, October 30. She referred to it as “an incredible journey of creativity”.
She invited Nigerians to join her in the effort to uphold the nation’s honor. The artist also mentioned that she will be searching for sponsorship for the event in question.
Since its inception in 1955, the Guinness Book of World Records recognises and publishes human achievements and the extremes of the natural world.
But then, it seems Hilda’s inspiration was the match that kindled the flame that spurred Nigerians into a frenzy for record-breaking.
