There are a total of 22 commercial banks operating in Nigeria. Out of the 22, some are financially stronger than others. We want to examine five banks that are on top of Nigeria’s banking system.
In the Nigeria banking system, First Bank Plc is the largest among all. As at the time of writing this report, it has a total customer deposit of N4.2trilion.
Zenith Bank is the second largest. Access Bank was the second in terms of customer deposits but it was overtaken by Zenith Bank. As at the time of this report, Zenith Bank has a total deposit of N4trillion.
Access Bank is taking third place as the bank with the highest customer deposit in Nigeria. It has N3.99trillion.
United Bank for Africa Plc is the fourth in the hierarchy of largest deposits in the country. As at the time of writing this report, it has N3.4trillion customer deposits.
GTBank is the fifth representing N2.4trillion customer deposits in Nigeria.
