A wife and mother of three, Mrs. Sandra John, has described submission in marriage as unnecessary, hence, not in her agenda.
Mrs. John in her chat with Emerald News said that many women have gone to early grave in the process of trying to show submission to their husbands.
She said that it is quite a maltreatment for husband and wife to go their business places in the morning, after struggling the whole day and coming back, the wife will start doing house chores and attending to the children while the husband will sit down, watching television and be shouting at the wife that she is cooking late.
According to her, it is the height of humiliation for a woman to struggle to provide larger financial needs of the family and still be expected to work like a Jacky at home.
Mrs. John categorically told this meduim that she does not want to please her husband at her detriment, adding that if she breaks down and dies, her husband will not wait for six months before looking for a woman to marry.
She, however, urged women to sit up and shun absorbing unnecessary stress just to be submissive to their husbands.
“I am not telling them to disobey their husbands but I want them to be conscious of taking care of them especially those that are financial pillars to their homes,” she said.
Mrs. John added that her mother was a victim of over submission to her husband which turned out to cause some damages on her.
