Who Is Afraid to Let Prince Ned Nwoko Succeed?
Starving an entire senatorial zone of funding in the 2025 budget is not only unfortunate but a stark indictment of leadership priorities. Who, indeed, would blame the government for this glaring neglect?
The question that demands answer is: what role did those who claim to hold the reins of leadership in Delta North play in this calculated neglect? Is it not a form of self-sabotage to fight against development in one’s own backyard?
The deliberate starvation of the local governments of Delta North of funds in a bid to enforce political dominance will undoubtedly backfire. It is purely an act of violence against the people, as financial violence is an old trick well articulated in social science research.
The consequences of such myopic politics are borne not just by the Senator but by the very people who look to leadership for progress and prosperity.
Turning around to question the achievements of a Senator who campaigned vigorously for the same party, PDP, when the presidential elections had been lost, and delivered the state government under very difficult political circumstances, yet is denied the influence he should wield in his role as the most senior elected official of that party in the region, is nothing short of blackmail. This brazen act of political sabotage is not lost on the people. They see through the charade and will not be fooled.
Amidst these adversities, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko remains undeterred. He refuses to rest on his oars, channeling his network and influence to forge partnerships at both the federal and global levels. His determination to attract interventions and initiate development projects underscores his resilience and commitment to the people of Delta North. This is a leader who understands that progress is not merely a function of political maneuvering but of vision and collaboration.
The Distinguished Senator has vowed: “I will not rest until the Okpai power plant is stepped down, the Ogwashi-Uku Dam is completed, and the Asaba-Oko-Aboh coastal road becomes a reality.” These projects are not just political promises but personal missions. They symbolize his unwavering dedication to the development of Delta North, and he is prepared to push through every obstacle to see them realized.
Deltans may recall, that the Senator’s passion and drive brought over $20billion Paris Club Refunds to Nigeria; and unfreezing billions of naira in funds through a landmark decision by the British courts. This is the same leader who braved the extremes of Antarctica to raise global awareness for his malaria eradication project—a mission to protect the lives of millions. These feats are not the marks of an ordinary politician but of a man fueled by resilience and an unquenchable fire to make a difference.
The actions of those who seek to hinder his success are akin to cutting off one’s face to spite the nose—a strategy that is as self-defeating as it is destructive.
History has shown that such pettiness only breeds resentment and ultimately fails. The Senator’s ongoing projects and initiatives—ranging from solar-powered infrastructure to healthcare interventions and road construction—are testaments to his resolve to bring tangible development to his constituency.
The question remains: who is afraid of Senator Prince Ned Nwoko’s success? Is it fear of his unwavering commitment to equity, or is it the discomfort of watching him rise above the constraints imposed on him? Whatever the answer, one thing is certain—his vision for Delta North is unshakable, and his determination to succeed, in spite of the odds, is a testament to his character and leadership.
