As effort is being made globally to create a world without barriers with technology, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, has unveiled her e-learning platform to bring her members up to speed in line with best practices globally.
Speaking during the official launch of the platform at the head office in Victoria Island, Lagos, ICAN President, Dame Joy Adewuyi, emphasized on the benefits of the e-learning platform, saying it would not only introduce flexibility in all ICAN trainings but would also encourage the expected desire for lifelong learning by professionals.
Dame Adewuyi stated that the outbreak of COVID-19 has accelerated the need to make knowledge transfer available in more flexible forms such that ICAN members and other responsible members of the public are not denied access to quality training from the institute.
“With the unwelcome arrival of COVID-19, continuing professional development programmes migrated to the zoom platform with impressive attendance.
“The ICAN E-Learning Platform, however, surpasses our earlier adopted zoom model: it provides access to content that is relevant and specific to users’ needs, roles and responsibilities in professional life; segmented to facilitate assimilation of new knowledge and allow flexible scheduling of time for learning.
“It contains creative instructional methods and techniques for better learning experience; sustains attention and promotes learning; can be assessed at any time and customisable,” she said.
